Jim applauds new Advicehub project in Cambridgeshire

- Jim with Nigel Brown OBE, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire & Chairman of Cambridge CAB and one of the new kiosks
Today Jim visited Cambridge & District Citizen’s Advice Bureau (CAB), and saw firsthand the new Advicehub project which is increasing people’s access to advice across Cambridgeshire. The lottery-funded project has created a network of self-help touchscreen kiosks in community locations across the county such as libraries, heath centres, hospitals and community centres.
The kiosks provide generalist advice on issues such as debt management and consumer affairs and provide a cost effective, locally based solution for people in their communities. They are intended to help a large number of people find answers to their problems without having to travel across the city to the CAB office. Even if people cannot find the answer through the simple 3 step touch screen process they can then email their enquiry and the CAB will then get in contact with them either by email or if they do not have an email address, then by phone.
Jim said, “I put a very high value indeed on the Citizens Advice service, which has a unique track record in providing advice to citizens, often those who are vulnerable. I sincerely hope that their Advicehub project will be a great success in increasing access to their service throughout the county.”
